RIBA Stirling Prize Shortlist

The RIBA stirling prize shortlist News & Views The RIBA Stirling Prize 2024 Shortlist has landed Back to news & views The RIBA Stirling Prize 2024 Shortlist has landed & we are happy to share that our project for London Borough of Hackney, the Chowdhury Walk development at Daubeney Road, has made the list! Designed by award-winning architect AL-JAWAD PIKE, the Chowdhury Walk development is part of almost 2,000 new homes that Hackney has built since 2018, to help tackle the borough’s housing crisis – and some of the first in a new range of developments that see the repurposing of under-used land, car parks and garages to create high-quality new homes. Neilcott undertook the demolition of 25 garages and construction of 11 new homes, providing a mix of new 2 & 3 bed homes, with one fully accessible 4-bed family house. Formed of CLT structures & clad externally in brickwork, we also added external landscape enhancements, including attractive ground paving throughout, with planters in front of each house. Architects’ Journal – YMCA News & Views Stunning Photos from our YMCA project in the Architects’ Journal Back to news & views Neilcott Construction Limited were pleased to sponsor Surrey County Council‘s Fish and Chip van and prizes for the Tombola stall at SCC’s Children’s Summer Event. Held this July for Surrey’s looked-after children and foster carers, the event offered all a choice of delicious freshly cooked fish and chips and a soft drink to enjoy in the warm sunshine. Our contributions to SCC’s Amazon wishlist provided many toys and games which were given out as Tombola prizes and the day was a huge success. A key part of what we do at Neilcott, is support and give back to the communities that we build in and we are so happy to have been a part of making this day happen. Thank you SCC! Previous Next

Project Completion: Maple & Poplar

News & Views Project Completion: Maple & Poplar Back to news & views We are excited to share completion photos of Maple & Poplar, a fantastic scheme for the London Borough of Hillingdon. Following on from our demolition of the vacant Maple & Poplar Day Centre, we provided design & construction of two 3-storey blocks, comprising of 34 affordable units. The block faces an internal courtyard with a user-friendly space, including parking, pathways and landscape improvements. The scheme has been designed in a way which is sensitive to the existing green areas, and we have used a restricted palette of low maintenance materials, including brick, cladding & UPVC windows, which have all been incorporated within the design so that over time the development is enhanced – as these materials will naturally improve with age. The Neilcott team, including our Contracts Manager Mark Shambrook, Business Development Director Mark Bone & Hemel Hempstead Regional Director Mark Doyle attended the opening event and are pictured here with London Borough of Hillingdon Councillor Eddie Lavery who is Cabinet Member for Residents Services; Head of Capital Programme Works Services Michael Naughton ; Corporate Director of Place Karrie Whelan & John Rowan and Partners Director Trevor Greenhalgh & Quantity Surveyor Byron Ho.
