We are always looking for important initiatives to take part in. One that we are really excited about, is the Future Homes Hub‘s, Homes for Nature initiative, led by the Hub’s on-site Nature Measures Working Group. 

As part of this initiative, Neilcott have committed to providing a bird nesting brick for every new home built & a hedgehog highway on all of our developments. 

With the numbers of red-listed swifts having halved in the UK between 1995 and 2017, we are eager to protect and restore our declining wildlife populations, which has seen the UK become one of the most nature-depleted countries in the world. With hedgehog numbers dropping significantly, bird populations dwindling and habitats deteriorating, Neilcott is imploring others in the construction industry to join this important initiative.

By providing safe nesting sites for birds, and access points for hedgehogs to roam far and wide in search of food, mates and nesting sites, we can help species like the swift recover and support the wildlife in the communities where we operate. One of our key goals for every project we work on, is to give back to the local community and so this initiative is one we are delighted to drive forward.
