Emily Lodge – Short Breaks A new single storey Short Breaks Centre for working age adults with learning disabilities and/or autism Healthcare provision LETI standards Multi-stakeholder Client:Surrey County Council Contract:JCT D&B Value:£3.7m In the footprint of the former Lakers Youth Centre site, we are providing a new single storey Short Breaks Centre. The building will provide a short breaks accommodation from the home environment, support people to learn new skills, meet others, access the community and participate in social activities. The Short Breaks Centre is fully accessible, with 8 ensuite bedroom units for wheelchair users, a communal area, staff area and associated garden space. An internal courtyard creates a circulation route in the centre of spaces and bedrooms are located to the north and west for privacy and overlooking of green spaces. The building performance will meet LETI standards. Demolition BREEAM Grade II Listed Extension Client:LB Hackney Contract:JCT D&B Value:£8.7m New extension and refurbishment works to provide a new GP surgery providing a mix of consulting rooms and treatment rooms. The building aims to provide high quality primary, community and social care services with the completed faculty achieving a BREEAM rating of Excellent.  “This is a fantastic example of how the NHS and the Council can work together to improve services for local people. Hackney Surgeries, Belfast Road Design & construction of new accommodation for the Springhill GP surgery. Demolition BREEAM H&S Interface Complex logistics Client:LB Hackney Contract:JCT D&B Value:£7.2m The project provides high quality primary, community and social care services with the completed facility achieving a BREEAM rating of Excellent. The project involved demolition of existing structures and design and construction of a new GP surgery with 22 new clinical spaces, providing 18 consult rooms/consult training rooms, 3 treatment rooms and 1 minor procedures room allowing for minor operations to be carried out. The internal spaces are set out so as to create easy use and wayfinding for patients, whilst also maintaining privacy for staff. “I want to say a huge thank you to Jenny Bignell at Neilcott Construction Limited. Jenny opened up several paid work placements for our residents last year from quantity surveyence to carpentry. Live hospital site Interfaces with existing M&E Complex logistics Client:St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Contract:JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor’s Design Value:£3m St George’s Hospital, situated in Tooting, is one of the UK’s principal teaching hospitals, training medical students and carrying out advanced medical research, whilst also providing general tertiary and specialist care for complex injuries and illnesses. The new ward provides a 22-bed facility, 4 individual side rooms with ensuites and toilet and shower facilities in a HTM/HBN compliant environment.
