The National Youth Theatre

The National Youth Theatre Radical development to enable NYT to double the number of young people they engage in the building through their annual programme. Complex logistics Live environment Specialist design Client:National Youth Theatre Contract:JCT Standard Building Contract Value:£2.45m Redevelopment to facilitate increased spaces for NYT to provide free and affordable drama opportunities that champion diversity, creativity and alternative routes into the creative industries. The essential upgrade developed this thriving production hub for young people where creative on-stage, off-stage and digital talent of the future receives world-class training and development opportunities. The project comprised of a new entrance pavilion, studio space, a 200-seat studio workshop theatre and rehearsal spaces, and generally bringing the building standards up to align with the theatrical rehearsal requirements of the National Youth Theatre. “This epic and accessible redevelopment enables us to double the number of opportunities we deliver with our talented freelance associate artists and young people in the building and further expand our work around the UK and beyond. Hampton School A creative and transformational project converting an unused external quad into an inspirational hub space for the school. Occupied Site Complex Logistics Structural Alterations Client: Hampton School Contract:JCT Standard Building Contract with Quants        Value: Quad Infill – £4.8mTB4 – £3m Working closely with the operational school in multiple phases, we delivered the expansion and renewal of specialist teaching spaces. This included a vertical extension of an existing two-storey block, construction of a new three-storey teaching and offices block, including a Central Pod with quiet study and a Quad space between the Central Pod and surrounding buildings. “The three-storey development within the existing Hammond Quad area of the School represents one of the most significant engineering challenges undertaken on our site. The centre significantly enhances the School’s existing teaching facilities and also provides an innovative study area for our Sixth Formers. Live hospital site Interfaces with existing M&E Complex logistics Client:St George’s University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust Contract:JCT Intermediate Building Contract with Contractor’s Design Value:£3m St George’s Hospital, situated in Tooting, is one of the UK’s principal teaching hospitals, training medical students and carrying out advanced medical research, whilst also providing general tertiary and specialist care for complex injuries and illnesses. The new ward provides a 22-bed facility, 4 individual side rooms with ensuites and toilet and shower facilities in a HTM/HBN compliant environment. Marylebone High Street Reinvigorating commercial, retail & education facilities on live site with constrained access Steel Frame Temporary Works Logistics Client:Howard de Walden Estates Contract:JCT Standard Building Contract Value:£9.5m Complex redevelopment works at historic 110 Marylebone High Street for repeat client Howard de Walden. Enabling and Main Works contracts involved whole building refurbishment and demolition of part of the existing building on St Vincent Street, along with new-build infill extension, internal structural alterations of the exiting building and fit-out works across the site.
