Key highlights: Refurbishment and reconfiguration of 1,450m² of space, including a new single-storey extension Modern library facilities alongside a range of community services and flexible spaces Installation of the Lyngsoe ‘Super Access’ system, enabling extended library hours and greater digital inclusivity Significant sustainability upgrades: energy-efficient M&E, smart lighting, water-saving fixtures, improved thermal performance, and PV panels, supporting Surrey’s Greener Future net zero carbon strategy A huge thank you to Surrey County Council, our project team, and all our partners. The new Hub will serve as a welcoming, sustainable, and inclusive space for the Weybridge community for years to come.

This project involved the refurbishment and fit-out of a vacant unit in the Elmsleigh Shopping Centre, creating a vibrant new space for the community. The new Hub brings together the library, museum, café, community room, and a range of public services, all under one roof and accessible to everyone in Staines. Key features include: Modern, flexible spaces across two levels The innovative Lyngsoe ‘Super Access’ system, enabling extended library hours for cardholders Upgraded, energy-efficient M&E services and sustainable materials, supporting Surrey’s Greener Future net zero carbon strategy New public terrace, soft play area, and secure bike storage Extensive stakeholder engagement to ensure the Hub meets the needs of all users A huge thank you to our project team, consultants, supply chain, and the local community for their collaboration and support throughout the build.

Steel Signing at Watergate

News & Views Watergate Steel Signing Back to news & views 📍 Proud to be part of this milestone at Watergate School! We recently held a steel signing event on-site for our client Lewisham Council, marking a significant milestone in the development of the new SEND Watergate School. It was great to welcome the key stakeholders together to mark the milestone of completing the steel frame. The steel beam was signed by Lewisham’s Head of SEND Services for Children and Young People – Reinhild Onuoha and Councillor Edison Huynh – Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Lemuel Dickie-Johnson, Graeme Sargood MCIOB ICWCI, our Design Team and our key sub-contractors Conneelys and Cahill Structures. It was a moment to reflect on the hard work of everyone involved upto this point and to look forward to the exciting phases of construction that are still to come. A huge thank you to everyone who baked, bought, and brought in treats – from homemade sausage rolls and quiche to Dundee cake, brownies, rocky roads, polenta cake and blueberry muffins… the spread was incredible! The event doubled as the Great Neilcott Bake Off, and after much delicious deliberation, banana bread was the winning bake! 🍌🏆

News & Views World Car Free Day 2025 Back to news & views On 22nd September, Neilcott Construction Limited proudly joined millions across the globe in supporting #worldcarfreeday2025 and as part of the ‘Project Green’ initiative from the Procure Partnerships Framework. Colleagues were encouraged to leave their cars at home and opt for more sustainable travel choices – whether that was walking, cycling, car sharing, or using public transport to get to our offices and sites. 🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️🚌The numbers are still coming in, but I’m proud to share that we saved over 1,000 miles by not driving! Small changes like these, when made collectively, can have a big impact on reducing emissions, easing congestion, and improving air quality in our communities. At Neilcott, we’re committed to playing our part in creating a more sustainable future – both on our projects and in how we travel to them. 👏 A big thank you to everyone who got involved – here’s to building a greener way forward, together!
